The marriage entry in the Stellenbosch church register show that the marriage was long delayed. From 1st of March to the 5th of June: The predikant of Stellenbosch, Beck, laid an allegation that the prospective bridegroom was the most unprincipled man in the colony.]^[3][4]

She was the daughter of one of the Rotterdam orphans specially sent out (1688) to the colony, Engeltje Cornelisse van der Bout by her husband Bartholomeus Coopman / Koopman (from Utrecht) ... ^[5]

Her mother remarries Hans Henske / Heinsii / Hennsz(ken) van der Burg (from Hamburg), widower of Anna Maria Holzhax / Holshax / Holtholt (from Switzerland), widow of Hans Jacob [Huben] (from Switzerland) ... ^[5]

Her marriage to Cape-born Jacobus Hendricks:, of the farm "Nietvoorbij" near Banhoek, is initially opposed by the minister at Stellenbosch as the groom & his father - the step-son of Thielman Hendricksz (from Utrecht) whose mother Maijke Hendricks / Mayken van den Berg (from Diest in Brabant) had been banished earlier (1677) to Mauritius for cattle rustling - were effectively fugitives of the law after assaulting the cobbler Jacobus van den Berg (from Breskens, Zeeland) & the couple finally are allowed to get married at the Castle ... ^[5]

After the birth of their son, she, her husband & son are banished (1710) as a family to Ceylon ... [Mansell Upham] ^[5]
