Biography
William Cornish was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
William Thomas Cornish was born about 1865, his birth registered that year in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Angus Cornish and Matilda Brusby. [1]
Marriage. In 1892, he married Henrietta Rende, in Victoria. [2]

- CORNISH—RENDE.—On the 9th ult., at the residence of the bride's parents, Roseville, Chewton, by Rev. Dr. A. R. Boyd M'Cay, William Thomas (Victorian Water Supply department), son of Angus Cornish, Esq., borough surveyor, Castlemaine to Henrietta, third daughter of Mathias Rende, Esq. [3]
Widowed. Henrietta, known to her family as Ettie, died 21st May 1901, aged 31. [4]
Marriage. In 1907, William married his sister-in-law, Helena Elizabeth Rende, in Victoria. [5]
Death. William died in 1939, aged 74. His death was registered Elsternwick, Victoria, giving Castlemaine as his birthplace and naming his parents as Angus Cornish and Matilda Jansen. [6]

- CORNISH.— On April 29, at his residence, 13 Curral-road, Elsternwick, William Thomas Cornish, the dearly loved husband of Helena Elizabeth, and loving father of Hilda (Mrs. [?] Parish), and Clifton Angus Cornish, aged 74 years. Late Audit Office, Melbourne.

- CORNISH.— The Friends of the late WILLIAM THOMAS CORNISH are informed that his remains will be interred in the Chewton Cemetery. The funeral will leave his residence, No. 13 Curral-road, Elsternwick, THIS DAY (Monday), May 1, at 10 a.m., arriving at the cemetery about 1.30 p.m.

Burial. William was buried in Ettie's grave at the Chewton Cemetery. After her death, William had erected a large, ornate, grave marker, topped by an angel. His death details were added to the lower block. [8]
