Biography

Jane (Cotney) Pike was a South Carolina colonist.

Nancy Jane "Jennie" Cotney was born around 1775 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Daniel Cotney and Keziah Unknown. ^[1][2]

In 1790, she married John W. Pike in Edgefield County, South Carolina.^[1] They had as many as twelve children:^[1][2] (Note: Names and birth dates are slightly different on the sources.)

The Pikes made their home in Edgefield County, as shown in the 1800 U.S. Federal Census,^[3] and 1810 U.S. Federal Census.^[4] By 1820, they had moved to Walton County, Georgia.^[5]

Jennie passed away in 1835 in Coweta County, Georgia.^[1][2]

On May 5, 1819, in Salduda County John Pike had witnessed William S's signature on a deed of sale to Thomas Hardy. William S. died soon after."
