Emma and George were married in the Weslyan Church, St Peter's Road, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. In 1892 at the time of her marriage to George Emma was a fish salesman, living in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. C. COULBECK and N. COULBECK were witnesses at the marriage. The Wesleyan minister was William SHAW.[1]
Emma died of cancer at Napier, Hawke's Bay. She was living at 2 Breakwater Road, Napier at time of death. Her doctor J.J Edgar saw her the day she died.[2] Her Funeral Service was conducted by Presbyterian Minister Rev. Thomas Tait. She is buried in Napier Old Cemetery, Napier, Hawkes Bay, South east block 8. Her Gravestone reads Emma, beloved wife of Geo. H Carrington who died 28th March 1916 aged 50 years Rest in peace".[3]
