John G. Courson was born on November 19, 1802 in Lisbon, Androscoggin, Massachusetts (District of Maine), son of Zebulon Corson (~1775– ) and Thankful Whitney (~1776–1851) ^[1].

John (21) married Mary Chase (19) (born on December 29, 1804 in Westbrook, Cumberland, Massachusetts; daughter of Abel Chase and Mary (Libby) Chase) on November 4, 1824 in Lewiston, Lincoln, Maine ^[2].
