All of their children and their spouses moved west with them, and all settled in the vicinity of Unionville, Putnam County, Missouri and Moravia, Appanoose County, Iowa, which are only 34 miles apart.
Two of their children married a brother and sister: Samuel married Clarissa Jane Coffrin and Sarah married Tenike Coffrin. Charles and Nancy Cox are buried in the Coffrin Family Cemetery near Unionville, which is located on what was Tenike Coffrin's farm.
(Newspaper notice from the files of Sarah L. Phillips, Unionville, MO) Unionville Republican Weekly, 25 June 1874:
"The funeral of Charles Cox and his wife, Nancy Cox, was preached on Sunday, 14th inst. by Rev. H. W. Deshler, at the Fife school house, to a large number of people from Missouri and Iowa. This venerable couple was born in the state of Kentucky, Charles Cox January 26, 1796 and Nancy Cox, November 22, 1798. They were married April 11, 1816. In 1853 they moved to the state of Iowa, where they remained until 1857, when they moved to Putnam County, where they remained until their death. Charles Cox died August 27 and Nancy Cox September 9, 1873."
(Note: Because there were no ministers residing in the area, the circuit-riding preacher would conduct funeral services for those who had died since his last visit. Charles and Nancy Cox died in the fall of 1873, but their funeral wasn't held until the minister came to the area the following summer.)
