Lavinia was born in 1767. Lavinia Cox passed away in 1851 and was buried nr Dry Branch, Nelson Cemetery, Twiggs, Ga.She was the child of Cary Cox & Mary Nancy Horn, the wife of Sion Wheelus #1 and Thomas B Chappell #2. She had by Sion- Amos,Hardy,Elizabeth,Edmond Allen and Mary Hill. She had by Thomas Bethena, Nancy H, Mahala,Thomas Simmons, Joseph John

Christian Index Obituaries 1822-1879 Louina Chappell 84 yrs. d 4-14-1851 Twiggs Co Ga. May 1 1851 p 71 Col 5..".Departed this life on the 14th Twiggs Co. Ga. at son T.S. Chappell's with whom she lived. She was in the 84th year of her age, having lived a widow for many years, and an orderly and pious member of the Bab. ch for about 62 years. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Stone Creek Ch. Twiggs Co. Ga. (She probably joined the church in Warren Co. Ga and was bab. by Jeptha Vining. ..etc. Her funeral was preached by him--- from Rev. 14:13 Blessed are the dead who die in Christ." "Let me die the death of the richous and my last end be like his C A Tharpe"

She and Sion moved to Wilkes Co. Ga. from Johnson Co NC by the 1787 Tax List. That same year- Livinia joined the Williams Creek Baptist Church in Warren Co. Ga.- Her Father Cary Cox-also was a member-earlier, and her brother Ichabod. Her brother Asa later joined. She was babtised by the famous Jeptha Vining...per her obit-Christian Index.

She had five children by Thomas B Chappell:
