Ebenezer Son of Ebenezer & Thankfull Cox; was born March 13th. 1725/6.[1] in Dorchester,Massachusetts. Moved from Dorchester to Wrentham then to Hardwick, New Hampshire about 1760 Currier by trade. Distinguished officer during French War Lieutenant 1757 and Captain 1758-62
Buried in Hardwick, NH with his headstone claiming: "Beneath this stone a noble Captain's laid, Which for his king and Country was displayed, His courage that no terrors could disarm, Nor, when he faced ye foes, his fears alarmed. But now he's conquered, and ye silent grave Can boast that power ye French could never have. Under his care, his soldiers were secure, Equals with them all hardships he'd endure. In six canpayns intrepid took ye field, Nor to ye Gallic power would ever yield. At last he's gone; we hope where wars do cease To spend a whole eternity in peace."
