Biography

Owen was born in 1740. He was the son of Owen McCravey and Sarah Brown. He passed away in 1795.
1776 Project
Owen Cravey Jr served with Civil Service, North Carolina during the American Revolution.

Owen Cravey was born circa 1740 and was living in Edgecombe county, North Carolina at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Owen provided a gun, in service to the Continental Army and also served as a juror. [1] Owen Cravey is honored for his Patriotic and Civil Service by the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A133599. DAR records indicate that Owen died before December 4, 1795, in Edgecombe county, North Carolina and that he was twice married. Owen's first wife was Celia Johnston and his second wife was Mary Hines. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his son, David Cravey, whose wife's name was Susan (no maiden name given). [2]

Researchers Notes

According to Ancestry, Owen's father was Owen McCravey, born in Connacht, Roscommon, Ireland on 1691. Owen McCravey married Sarah Brown and had 6 children. He passed away on 1760 in Edgecombe, North Carolina. [3]
