DEATH. HANBURY-LENNOX. —December 21, 1917, in England, suddenly. Rosa, widow of the Hon. Charles Spencer Bateman Hanbury-Lennox, and youngest daughter of the late Boyd Alexander Cunninghame, R.N., of Craigends, Scotland, and The Fulton, Sale, Gippsland.
OBITUARY. The Australasian says that Mrs. C. F. T. Farran, of Cotmore, Mossvale, New South Wales, has received news by cable from London of the death of her sister, Mrs. Hanbury-Lennox, widow of the Hon. Charles Spencer Bateman Hanbury -Lennox, and youngest daughter of the late Mr. Boyd Alexander Cunninghame, R.N., of Craigends, Scotland, and The Fulton, Sale, Victoria, one of the pioneers of Gippsland, who with his brother Robert was among the first party to cross into that district from Monaro. After her husband's death in 1912, Mrs. Hanbury-Lennox paid a visit to Canada, and bought a property in the province, of Nova Scotia. This she improved greatly, and converted into a highly productive farm. For five years her time was divided between England and Canada, and it was while on a visit to England for her health that her death occurred unexpectedly in December. Mr. Boyd Alexander Cunninghame was the first settler at Roseneath (called after his sister's home in Scotland), while The Fulton property was bought by him at the first land sale held in north Gippsland.
