Paron Ann Curd was born 19 Feb 1863 in Calloway Co., Kentucky, USA to William Hardy Curd and Emily Jane Bailey. ^{[1] [2]} As she got older, she gained the nickname of "Teeny" as she only reached a height of 4’ 11”. ^[3]

After the death of her sister, Frances Jane "Fannie" Curd Utterback, in October 1890, Paron Ann married Fannie's husband, James Henry Utterback on 28 April 1891. They had two children, one of which lived to adulthood. ^[4]
