My Great grandfather Daddy Will or William Henry Daulton / Dalton was proud of the fact that his Father Frank Daulton was a pure blooded African. He said he came over on the ship.

Source is what my Great grandfather told me about his Father Frank Daulton, who was a Slave, that was able to buy his Freedom by making mahogany furniture. Daddy Will was so proud of his Daddy he talked about him often. He named my Grandmother Lois Serena Daulton after his Mother Serena.
