John was born about 1815. He passed away on the 4th of August, 1892 in Pisgah, DeKalb County, Tennessee and would be buried in the Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery in Pisgah, DeKalb County, Tennessee
Though the memorial at Find a graves says John Marion Davis, the tombstone DOES NOT! I've never seen any source or document that shows his middle name to be Marion.
