Biography

Floyd Davis was born on September 25, 1884, In Lincklaen, Chenango County, New York. [1][2][3]

In 1900, at age 15, he lived on the family farm with his parents and siblings David, age 20, Maud, age 14, Eugene, listed here by his first name, "Archie," age 11, Nora, age 9, Frank, age 8, DeForest age 4, and baby Maurice, 2 months.[4] Sadly, Maurice would die later that year.[5]

1910 is the last census where I have found Floyd. It shows him still living on the family farm with his father, occupation listed as "none."[6]

Floyd apparently moved to Vermont. The address he provided when he registered for the WWI draft was in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont, and he listed his employer as the "Waterbury Last Block Co."[2] If he was living at Little River, that might explain him not appearing in census records, as that area was quite remote at the time.

Floyd also registered for the WWII draft, though of course, at age 57 he was not called up to service. His address in 1942 when he registered was in Burlington, Vermont.[3]

I don't have Floyd's exact date of death, but it would seem to have been around September 13, 1950, based on Social Security records.[7]
