I began my genealogy journey when a man with the last name of one of my ancestors was renting pasture from my father. I asked him if we were related and he brought me a Xeroxed copy of a typed manuscript that detailed that lineage back to my immigrant ancestor and the Revolutionary War. I have spent the last 50 years meandering the rivers of my ancestral lines as well as periodically doing research for friends and coworkers.
I discovered my ancestors were enslavers so I strayed into WikiTree territory and was promptly captured by the WT Indians. I joined the US Black Heritage Project to fulfill my hope that one day I could help a descendant of those slaves identify their heritage.
