Biography

Mary Ann Elizabeth Dean was born about 1863 (see research note.) She was the daughter of Frederick Dean and Emily Cherry.

On 16 Aug 1888, Mary married Percy Phillip Collins.^[1] They had the following children:

1. Norman Alfred, 1889
2. Percy Frederick, 1891
3. Emily Ann Elizabeth, 1892
4. Arthur George, 1894
5. Ernest Philip, 1897
6. William James, 1900

She passed away on 7th February 1939, and is buried in the Stanthorpe cemetery.^[2][3]

Research Notes

Searches of Queensland and New South Wales birth registration indexes yield no birth entry for Mary Ann Elizabeth, nor for her brother, Frederick. There is an entry for brother Alfred, based on his baptism in Brisbane six months after his birth. Because they lived in rural areas, perhaps the family did not get to Brisbane to have Frederick and Mary Ann Elizabeth baptized, or perhaps they were baptized in a rural church and records did not survive.

Dates and places are those found in a folder of family history, but it is not known where the information came from - possibly from various family members. Scott-13767 22:04, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
