Biography

Geneviève Després is a descendant of an Acadian

Geneviève Després was born around 1784.^[1] She was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Després and Madeleine Bourg.

She married Auguste Léger, son of Pierre Jacques Léger and Marie Madeleine Haché on 19 July 1802 in Grande-Digue. ^{[2] [3]} Their children were:

1. Joseph Léger (1803–1803)
2. Marie Leger (1804–1891)
3. Marguerite Legere (1807– )
4. Scholastique Céleste Léger (1811–1847)
5. Vincent Léger (1813–1899)
6. Francois Leger (1815–1907)
7. Mathilde Léger (1817–1817)
8. Thaddé Léger (1818–1819)
9. Eulalie Léger (1820– )
10. Placide Léger (1822–1867)

She passed away on 7 November 1863 at about 80 years of age, and was buried on the 9th in the Cocagne cemetery (the event was listed in the Grand-Digue register).^[1]
