Herbert Diamond was born in Ontario, Canada in July of 1864 to Irvine Diamond and Esther Platte. He married Mima Ellenor in 1889 and emigrated to the US in 1890. In 1900, Herbert lived in Toledo, Ohio and worked as a Railroad Conductor. He and his wife had five children: Edgerton, Leland, Irvine, Herbert and Mima.

Herbert passed away 25 Feb 1932 at the Eloise Infirmary in Wayne County, Michigan.
