1814 Ann Appleyard Dickinson is baptised on the 12th of June at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, England. She is the daughter of George and Martha Dickinson.[1].
1815 Her younger sister Jane Dickinson is baptised on the 31st of December at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton.[2]
1817 Ann is only 3 years old when her mother Martha is buried on the 9th of April at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton aged 34.[3]
1821 Her sister Elizabeth Appleyard Dickinson is buried on the 7th September at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton, aged 13. The family is living in Minchinhampton at the time.[4]
1833 Ann witnesses the marriage of sister Jane Dickinson to Joseph Halliday on the 27th of March at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton.[5]
1834 She is married by banns to Richard Halliday on the 3rd of April at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton. They both sign the register and the witnesses are Fenning Parke and James Cox.[6]
1835 On the 19th April her eldest son Joseph Halliday is baptised at All Saints Church in Bisley, Gloucestershire, England. At this time the family is living in the village of Chalford. Her husband Richard's occupation is recorded as Cloth Worker.[7]
1836 Eldest daughter Caroline Halliday is baptised on the 25th of December at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton. Richard Halliday is still a Cloth Worker but the family are now living in Burley [Burleigh].[8]
1839 In the 2nd quarter of the year son George Halliday's birth is registered at Stroud Register Office.[9]
1841 Ann is living in the hamlet of Burley with husband Richard, again recorded as a Cloth Worker (30), and children Joseph (7), Caroline (5) and George (2).[10] Later the same year the birth of daughter Martha is registered at Stroud Register Office.[11]
1851 The family are now living in the hamlet of Box in the parish of Minchinhampton. Ann, Richard and the elder two children are all working in the cloth industry, with the remaining two children recorded as scholars.[12]
1860 Youngest daughter Martha is buried on the 22nd of March at Holy Trinity Church, Amberley aged 18. The family is living in the hamlet of Littleworth.[13]
1861 Her husband Richard dies and is buried on the 5th March at Holy Trinity Church aged 49. The family is living in the hamlet of Littleworth.[14] The following month the 1861 census takes place. Ann is now living at Burleigh with children Caroline and George, who are now adults. They are all working in the cloth trade.[15]
1871 Ann is now living at Walcott Farm in Swindon, Wiltshire with her widowed son Joseph, who is recorded on the census as a farmer of 120 acres. Also present in the household are Joseph's sons Henry and Joseph, both scholars, a governess, a cousin and a servant.[16]
1881 Ann is living back in Burleigh with her granddaughter Martha Clissold. Now 66, she is still working in the cloth industry. Living nearby are Joseph and Jane (Dickinson) Halliday. Jane is Ann's younger sister.[17]
1891 Ann and her granddaughter Martha are still living in Burleigh. Ann is now living on her own means and Martha is an apprentice dressmaker.[18]
1901 Ann is living with her daughter Caroline Clissold and family in Church Hill, Chalford, Gloucestershire.[19]
1908 Ann Halliday of Church Hill, Bourne, is buried on the 4th of December at Holy Trinity Church in Brimscombe aged 94.[20]
