Mary (Dillard) Dickerson lived in Appalachia, in Georgia.
Mary Rebecca "Ruth" "Polly" Dillard,[1] daughter of John Dillard and Ruth (Vaughn) Dillard, was born in Nov. 1786 in North Carolina.[2]
Note: "When John Dillard came to Rabun County around 1820, only his wife, his son, James, and his daughter, Mary Rebecca Dickerson, accompanied him."[3]
She married Obediah Terry Dickerson, who was a surveyor who came to the Georgia wilderness early on and helped lay out lots for the county and the town of Clayton.
Mary died in Aug. 1873 in Rabun County, Georgia and was buried at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery, Dillard, Rabun County, Georgia. Her memorial has photos and links to those of family members.
