Biography

The daughter of John Dixon Sr and Evarine (Buck) Dixon, Lorene Dixon was born in Chicago, Illinois,^[1] however, by 1920, her family had returned to Texas, taking up residence in Dalhart.^[2] Lorene Dixon married Leslie M. Castle (1906-1986), the son of John J. Castle and Mary Emma Taylor.

They made their home in Dalhart,^[3] After her father's death, Lorene and her family moved, with her mother and Lorene's siblings, to California, residing in 1950 in Centinela,^[4] Lorene worked for Northrup Aircraft Company.^[5]

Lorene Castle died of stomach cancer at the age of 49, passing away at South Bay Hospital in South Redondo Beach, California^[5][6][7] and is buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.
