Born in 1692 in Provincetown, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay, Joseph was baptized in Truro, Mass. Bay, on 26 Oct 1712. Joseph died on 5 Oct 1748 in Falmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. Occupation: commercial fisherman. Rachel predeceased him. She died in 1739, also in Falmouth, Cumberland, Maine District of the Massachusetts Bay Province, New England.
Joseph was baptized at Truro on the same day as his mother, brother Anthony, and two sisters Lydia and Deborah.

Her mother, Hannah may or may not have been Hannah Snow, the granddaughter of Mayflower passenger Constance (Hopkins) Snow,[3] but the Mayflower Society has been approving applications through her children's lines for many decades.[4] No primary sources have been located to prove the maiden name of Hezekiah Doane's wife. No marriage record for this couple is extant. Hannah Snow's father, John Snow did not leave a will, and probate records did not name his children.[5]
