Biography
Squire never married. He lived back in the woods in a small house. Once he was sick he stayed with his brother, George Wilburn Jr.. They made him a bed on the porch and hung up sheets for privacy. A bear came down one day and began climbing the peach tree near the house, the chickens were roosting in the tree. Someone was going to shoot the bear but Squire wouldn't let them. He said they would only make it mad and it would kill them all.
