Biography

Noel Douglass is a member of Clan Douglas.

Noel Douglass was born 1863 near Sherman, Grayson, Texas to James H Douglass and Harriet Cage Douglass. There is very little information about Noel. Most of what is known comes from oral family history and census records. When James and Harriet returned to Sumner, Tennessee after the civil war, Noel was with them. He is in their 1870 census household in Sumner, Tennessee. In the 1880 census Noel and his younger sister Lou are in the John Dunn household in Hendersonville. John Dunn was Noel's uncle on his mother's side. He is not found in the 1900 census. His burial place is near his mother at the Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery in Hendersonville. His exact date of death is unknown but must have been between 1880 and 1900. Noel was the first of James H Douglass descendants to be born in Texas.
