Biography

Greta Lotta Dolk was born in Gärdserum parish 19 September 1827 to crofter and former soldier Petter Dolk in Grönstorp and his wife Lisa Olofsdotter.^[1] She had three older sisters.^[2] Her mother died in 1838.^[3] Her father remarried, so she grew up with a stepmother, Inga Lisa Andersdotter.^[4]

Greta Lotta Dolk married Johan Wilhelm Törngren 29 May 1851.^[5] They lived in Grönstorp with her father, who was a widower for the second time.^[6][7][8]

Johan Wilhelm Törngren and Greta Lotta Persdotter Dolk went to North America with their children in April 1869.^[9]
