Edward Earl was b. June 19, 1760, d. Oct. 13, 1817. He served in the Revolution from Essex Co., and after the war became a "cordwinder." He married Phebe Gardner, b. at Springfield, N.J. Aug. 21, 1764, d. Jan. 5, 1829, daughter of Thomas Gardner Jr. and Phebe (Headley) Gardner. Children: Philip, Joanna, Elizabeth, Sarah, Robert, Phebe, Edward, Thomas, Joanna, Elizabeth, John.[1]
