She married Fred J. Schmidt in 1919 in Greeley, Colorado.[1]
Edith Schmidt died following heart surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She is buried at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, Colorado.

Mrs. Edith Schmidt, 57, of 825 12th St., died Wednesday afternoon at St. Luke's Hospital, Denver, following heart surgery. She had been at the hospital this last time since Monday and had been in ill health for the past year.
Born Aug. 21, 1900 in Frank, Russia, she came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob E Eckhardt, when a young girl. They had resided here since 1908.
She and Fred J Schmidt were married here Dec. 24, 1919. They lived in Nebraska from 1923 to 1926 and in Wisconsin for the next 10 years. The Schmidts returned to Greeley in 1936.
Survivors are her husband, three sons; 6 grandchildren; her father; and 5 sisters and a brother. Mrs. Schmidt's mother died in June.
