Margaret Esther Edelsten was born in 1837 [1] in Warrington, Lancashire, England, the daughter of James Edelsten and Eliza Price
In 1841 she was with her parents and siblings in Winwick Street, Warrington.[2]
In 1851 she was a boarder at the home of Elizabeth Wright, a schoolmistress in Chester, Cheshire.[3]
