Captain Elias Edmonds Jr served with Culpeper Minute Men (1775), Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.

Elias served as a captain and later lieutenant colonel under Col. Thomas Marshall of the Virginia State Artillery Regiment during the Revolutionary War. According to Affidavits related to his military pay and pension, Elias married Frances Edmonds in 1786^[1] and had the following children:

1. Octavia (married George W. Grayson)
2. Elias
3. Betsey (married Joseph Blackwell)

Elias died 15 December 1800.^[2]
