Andrew was born on 12 August 1860 in Western Australia.[1]
He was a wheelwright and was farming at Toodyay as a youth. He drove sheep to the northwest and went pearling. He travelled to Eastern Australia for some years and
sailed round the world. He returned to Western Australia and became President of the
Fremantle Lumpers' Union and Vice-President of East Fremantle Football Club. He was Councillor for the Central Ward of Fremantle and a storekeeper on Silas St.[1]
Andrew married Mary Anne Creighton in Fremantle in 1899[2].
ELLERY.--On November 28, at Fre mantle, Andrew Ellery, of 58 Forrest street, Fremantle, dearly beloved hus band of Mary, loved father of Florence (Mrs J. Pages, Gosnells), fond, father in-law of Joseph, loved grandfather of Teresa, Diana, Joseph and Rodney; aged 82 years. At rest.[3]
