Biography

Arientje was born in 1733 in Gravesend, New York, the daughter of Jan Emans and Neeltje Van Aaken. Not named in her father's will dated 1732, so was a child yet to be born. She would have been raised by her mother and step-father, Edward Robeson. She married Jacobus Parmentier/Parliamenter. She died in 1793 in Dutchess County, New York.^[1]

"Witnessed the baptism of Adriana Palmontere , daughter of John Parmentier and Mary Jurry, on 26 February 1786 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Hackensack, Dutchess Co., New York, (sponsors Jacobus Palmontere, Adriana Palmontere).^[4]

"She is called Adrian in her husband's will of 27 July 1791. Named as executrix. Will dated 27 July 1791 "Jacobus Palmontere of Poughkeepsie Town," life use of estate to his wife Adrian. The legacies to children Jacobus, Adrian, Peter, Mary, Catherine. Residuary legatees: children Eleanor, Elizabeth, Sara, John, Jacobus, Adrian, Peter, Mary, Catherine. Names wife Adrian as executrix.
