Biography

Abraham Enoch was an early settler in Winnebago County, Illinois.
Abraham was an Illinois State Representative in 1852 and 1864

Abraham was born in 1819 in Ohio. He was the son of Henry Enoch and Mary Hall.

Abraham accompanied his father and brother to Winnebago County, Illinois in 1835. The family settled in Guildford Township.

In 1841 Abraham received a Land Patent for 80 Acres in Guilford. [1]

He married Catherine Davis in 1844. [2]

They farmed in Guilford. [3] [4]

Abraham was Guilford Township trustee and highway commissioner. He was also a justice of the peace and school superintendent.

In 1852 and 1864 he was elected to the Illinois State House of Representatives. [5]

In 1867 Abraham moved to Rockford and became part owner of Briggs, Skinner & Enoch which manufactured plows.[6] [7][8]

Abraham passed away in 1883. [9]
