He wrote a will on 13 September 1795 making his son William Evans his principal heir, making provision for his wife Elizabeth, his son Samuel and his other children, and naming his wife, his father Thomas Evans, his brother-in-law William Strutt junior and his brother Walter Evans joint executors. The will was proved in London on 3 June 1796.[2]
