Descendant author, Wilton Faulkner Orton Jr. records that Thomas Faulkner (aka Falkner) was born in Wales [sic=Later research has established that this Faulkner branch was from Sussex or West Sussex, near Lewes, England]. His parents also had property in Greater London. His father was a well-to-do leather dealer, shoe manufacturer. He says Thomas owned "Faulkner Folly," "Faulkner Square" and "Faulkner's Levels" in Maryland, in America, and that his first wife, by whom he had two children, was named Anne. [1]
He says that Thomas' second wife, who bore him three children, was named Margery. Thomas Faulkner's will, dated 9 January 1708, left to his son John the tract called "Faulkner's Folly" and to widow Margery Faulkner, his wife, the plantation he lived on at that time and control of the children until they became 21.[2]
W. F. Orton shows also that Thomas and Anne had two sons:
He says Thomas and his 2nd wife, Margery (Unknown) Faulkner, married on 30 June 1715 in Kent County, Maryland and had three children
This marriage date obviously conflicts with information that Thomas died around 1709 in Maryland. Needs Research!
