Biography

Richard was born in 1859. He was the son of Arthur Farquhar and Ellen Rickman. Richard, son of Arthur Farquhar & Ellen Richman, was born on 12 January 1859 in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.[1] He was baptised on 8 March 1859 in Hove, Sussex, England.[2][3][4]

In the 1861 census Richard (age 2) was the son of Ellen Farquhar in Cuckfield, Sussex, England.[5]

Richard married Libya-born Mary Matilda Frederica Reade, daughter of Tunisia-born British subject Sophia.[8] Richard's marriage was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1882 in the Westminster St. Margaret district.[9] They had 3 daughters:

Thomas was a consul in Tunis and had four sons born there, at least three of whom entered the diplomatic service. Only Thomas F Reade's marriage is connected on Familysearch.
