Death: Aug. 4, 1888
Pearl River News Columbia, Marion Co., Ms. Aug. 9, 1888 DEATH OF MRS. MAGEE It is our painful duty this week to chronicle the death of Mrs. Adeline Magee, the beloved wife of our townsman, Mr. John Magee, which sad event occurred at her home on last Saturday morning about four o'clock. For many long weary weeks Mrs. Magee has lain postrate up on a bed of sickness, afflicted with that dread disease, consumption. Everything possible was done for her relief by her Physician, relatives and friends, but the angel of death was relentless, and finally, when all had been done by loving hands to palliate the stroke, the weary and emaciated form breather its last, the tired hands dropped to rest, and the eyes that had gazed into the sorrowing faces of loved ones left behind sweetly closed to open again in that bright and better world on high. She leaves a sorrowing husband, two loving daughters and numerous relatives and friends to mourn her loss, to whom our sympathies are sincerely tendered in this their hour of affliction.
