Biography

Robert was born in August 1796 at Economy, Colchester County, Nova Scotia. He was a son of Edward Faulkner and Eleanor (Morrison) Faulkner. His parents were immigrants to Nova Scotia from New England, likely during the period after the Seven years War (1756-1763) and/or the American Revolutionar War (1775-1783).

He married (1) Martha Amelia Berry prior to 1822. She passed away prior to 1825.

He married (2) Olive Faulkner, also born at Economy, circa 1825 in Rhode Island. They returned to Nova Scotia after their marriage and raised a large family.

By no earlier than 1845 and no later than 1855, Robert and his family moved to Quincy, Massachusetts. They were enumerated there in the 1855 census with Robert listed as a farmer.

Robert has numerous descendants in both Massachusetts and Nova Scotia. He died on September 4, 1871 at Leyden and was interred there at the West Leyden Cemetery.[1]

  • Could use some additional research in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Loyalist sources as there are some gaps in the timeline. Were his parents Loyalists? What was he doing in Rhode Island in 1825 whe he first got married? What were his family/business connections to Massachusetts?
