Research Notes

In the 1871 census Ann is with her second husband William Parkin with Jonathan Parkin age 9 (born before they were married) and Sarah Parkin age 4 (born after their marriage). Also listed was Joseph J Routledge age 2 of Newcastle, named as a stepson. I think it is more likely he is a grand-stepson, a child of one of Ann's older children.

Fawcett-1622 and Fawcett-1242 appear to represent the same person because: Ann Fawcett married John Routledge on 2 Mar 1844 in Torpenhow Parish Church, Wigton, Cumberland, England, and then William Parkin on 8 Jul 1866 in Bolton, Cumberland, England, after John died. William appears to have been a neighbour of Ann in Mealsgate according to the 1861 census. George Routledge, 1844 -1924, is the son of John and Ann.
