Biography

When John Fearing was born on January 11, 1724, in Wareham, Massachusetts, his father, Isreal, was 41 and his mother, Martha, was 24. He married Dorcas Swift on March 23, 1758, in Sandwich, Massachusetts. They had four children during their marriage. He died on September 27, 1788, in his hometown at the age of 64, and was buried there.

John was the son of Israel and Martha Gibbs Fearing; he was born at Wareham in January of 1724/5.[1] He married Dorcas Swift[2] and they had four children who were born in Wareham.

John died at Wareham on September 27, 1788.[3]

Probate

The will of John Fearing of Wareham, Esqr., was dated 24 September 1788 and proved on 7 October 1788 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Dorcas, and his children, David Fearing, John Fearing, Moses Fearing, and Elizabeth Fearing.[4]

His inventory was taken on 4 December 1788 in Wareham.[5]

In 1789, an account of his estate by John Fearing was recorded which included debts paid, and administration fees.[6]

In 1794, a second account of his estate by John Fearing was recorded which included the balance from the former account, personal estate to the heirs, debts paid, and administration fees.[7]
