Richard's mother died when he was about 7 years old. Two years later, he was living with his Aunt Isabelle (Fiscus) Day and her family in Champaign, Illinois.[1] Ten years later, at the age of 19, he is living with his sister Berma and her family in Noble Township, Cass County, Iowa.[2]
According to his obituary, he moved to Burleson, Texas sometime around 1964. While living there, he became a member of the Burleson Baptist Church and became an ordained minister. He also worked for Bethesda Water company for 14 years.[3]
In 1970, Richard was the informant on his father's death record.[4]
In 1980, Richard retired as a Maintenance Specialist.[3]
Richard died on 25 Feb 1998 at the age of 77.[3][5][6] His grave marker indicates that he was in the Army, and his obituary says he served in World War II.[3][7]
