Raymond Flack was born in Utah.

Alroy "Raymond" Carlisle Flack was born to parents Alroy Mortimer Flack and Annie Jeune Carlisle on 12 July 1913 in Alpine, Utah according to his Birth Certificate.^[1] He was their second son.

Six-year-old Raymond lived with his parents and older brother at the 1920 Census. He was attending school and was able to both read and write ^[2]:

In 1925, Raymond was twelve years old when his father died.

16-year-old Raymond lived with his new stepfather and family in Provo, Utah at the 1930 Census ^[3]:

Five years later, Raymond marries Zora Allean Davis on 21 December 1935 in Long Beach, California according to their Marriage Certificate^[4][5]. Raymond is a 22-year-old linoleum layer and his bride is 18-years-old.

On 18 September 1936, Raymond and Zora welcome their first child, a daughter, Carolyn Flack in Provo, Utah.

In 1939, the US City Directory has Raymond living with his family in Long Beach, California. He works as a linoleum layer.^[6]

On 3 July 1939, Raymond and Zora welcome their second child, a son, Larry Carlisle Flack in Long Beach, California.

26-year-old Raymond lives with his wife and two children in Long Beach, California at the 1940 Census and US City Directory. He works as a linoleum contractor at a retail store^[7][8]  :

Later that year, Raymond registers for the World War II Draft on 16 October 1940. He worked as an independent contractor in Long Beach, California. According to his registration card, Raymond had dark brown skin, brown hair and eyes, and is about 5'4" and 143 lbs.^[9]

In 1943, Raymond and Zora welcome their third child, Annette Flack.

36-year-old Raymond lives with his wife and three children in Signal Hill, Los Angeles, California at the 1950 Census. He works as a carpet layer for a detail furniture company^[10]

Raymond passed away on 13 September 1976 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 63.^[11][12][13] He was laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Los Angeles, California. His plot is located in Valley View Lawn, Burial Section #5, Lot 2869 by Gate 17. ^[14]

Research Notes

Alroy Carlisle vs. Raymond Carlisle: Raymond's name appears on his birth certificate as "Alroy Carlisle" but subsequent records only refer to him as "Raymond Carlisle". Was this a nickname that stuck throughout life, or was his name legally changed at some point? Alroys were abundant in this family with the father, Raymond, and another brother (Alroy Legrand) having the name.
