He married Catherine Van Dyke in 1811 in Phelps, Ontario, New York. Their children included: Martin Van Buren Follett, Mary Follett (married Emory W. Lamb), William Tillman Follett, Triphena Follett, Sally Ann Follett (married Almon Linus Fullmer), and David Nelson Follett.
