Joshua was the son of Ephraim & Hannah (Eames) Foster
He married first Mary Barker, daughter of William & Mary (Barker) Barker, on 7 May 1730 in Essex, MA Bay
Their children were Joshua, Nathan, Isaac, Hannah, Mary, Isaac, Susanna & Mary
After the death of Mary Barker he married Mary Towne on 17 Aug 1769
