Richard Thomas[1] Issac[2] Franklin was born 12 Jul 1870[3] in Sevier County,[2][4] Tennessee[5][1][6][7] to Henry H. Franklin and Eliza Nations.[3][8]

He married Rebecca[6] Addie Templeton 13 Sep 1888 in Sevier County, Tennessee[9][5][1][6] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Mary A. Franklin was born Sep 1889 in Tennessee.[5]
  2. Parlie I. Franklin was born Jan 1891 in Tennessee.[5]
  3. John H. Franklin was born May 1892 in Tennessee.[5]
  4. Dicy Franklin was born Mar 1894 in Tennessee.[5]
  5. Maud L. Franklin was born Oct 1895 in Tennessee.[5][1]

On 27 Aug 1945 Richard was kicked in the abdomen by a mule, which resulted in his suffering from paralytic ilius and resulted in his death two days later on 29 Aug 1945 in Sevierville, Sevier County, Tennessee.[3][12]
