Research Notes
Rowley[4] Lists Michaels birth, marriage, and death dates on p. 211, in the section devoted to the biography of Michael franks Jr (1745 -1814). A complete transcription of Michael Franks Jr.'s will is included, and lists a Michael Franks as a descendant. A detailed biography for Michael III starts on p. 313
Rowley[4] Spells Michaels spouse surname as "First", but notes that the German form is "Furst".
There has been some confusion about the spouses and children of Michael Franks 1791 and this Michael, due to their closeness in both date and location of birth. Rowley's "The Michael Franks family history and genealogy"[4] gives the lineage and descendants for both, and shows that they were contemporaneous cousins.
Uuse of the suffix III follows the naming used in Rowley[4]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Michael by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Michael:
Franks-88 seems to conflict with this Michael Franks, either the same person or 2 different ones. The spouse Furst-195 seems like it should belong to this Michael Franks.
I agree that Amy Furst Franks (Furst-195) is the spouse of Franks-2666, not Franks-88; both the FindAGrave and the census source support this. Franks-2666 and Franks- 88 are however different people. Franks-88 is buried in the same graveyard as his parents., Franks-2666 is buried in a different graveyard (his father, Michael Jr. is buried in the same graveyard as Jacob Franks Franks-88's father. Franks-88 and Franks-2666 were cousins, it would appear. I'll work with Faranks-88's profile manager on moving Amy Furst, and reformat your sources to inline references. Thank you for pointing out the issue.
