Biography

William Frazier was the eldest child of Samuel Frazier and Rosannah Creighton. He was born 6 October 1771, probably in Berkeley County, [West] Virginia. He enjoyed a long life on a farm near Roney's Point after spending parts of his childhood in Berkeley County and Washington County, Pennsylvania. On 3 December 1795 he married Ruth Hedges, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Hedges. They became parents of seven children who reached adulthood. Ruth (Hedges) Frazier died before 1820, when her father described her in his will as "deceased." William married second, about 1833, Jane, daughter of Samuel Shields, a native of Ireland. William and Jane became the parents of three children. William outlived both his brothers and died on 8 October 1854 in Ohio County.[1]
