Biography

John was born on August 29th 1829 in Overton County, Tennessee to Thomas French and Elizabeth 'Betty' Smith

He married his first wife Susan Joanna Sevier on March 6th 1861 in Overton County, Tennessee.^[1] They had at least two children together before she passed away on June 13th 1865.

He married his second wife Elizabeth Ann Davidson, widow of George Washington Sevier Sr., in 1866. They had the following children:

• Lucinda Jo French Henson

He passed away on March 4th 1910. He was buried at the French-Logan Family Cemetery in Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky.^[2]
