Research Notes
Date of birth is probably from the "Thayer Memorial" and does not appear in town records. [5]
Thomas is mentioned as an heir in a petition regarding the estate of John: ""The persons concerned in said estate are John French, the oldest son, Dependence French, Thomas French, Samuel French, William French, the orphan of William French deceased, two daughters viz: Temperance Bowditch wife of John Bowditch, Elizabeth Wheelock of Mendon, children of Mary Lamb deceased are Mary Poole [alias] Thayer by her first husband Poole, and John Lamb, Samuel Lamb, Margaret Lamb, Mary Lamb, Grace Lamb, Hannah Lamb, which, if your honor shall please to grant will greatly oblige your humble servants." (Register Vol.12-253)." [5]

French-12828 and French-5048 appear to represent the same person because: I created 12828 by mistake. I've already loaded all my work and docs into 5048.
One problem is that the Thomas who was b. 10 Mar 1657/8 died the next year, per Savage's Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England, p. 205. An earlier brother, Thomas, also died young. For certain he was not the child of the John French + Freedom Kingsley.
