Biography

Frederick Frush was born in February 1758 in Frederick Co., Maryland. He was the son of Johann Frushour and Mary Durr.

He died 25 September 1835 in Highland Co., Ohio.He is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery in Marshall Twnp., Highland County, Ohio.^[1]

"Highland Pioneer Sketches & Family Genealogies, " Elsie Johnson Ayres, p 657:

Fredrick and Cassandra Frush, members of the German immigrant families settled in the Province of Maryland, located on the land where the Pleasant View Cemetery was later laid out. The entire region was a vast wilderness along the banks of Elk Run.

The Frush cabin was on the east side of the trace cut through to North Union. Fredrick Frush, born in 1749, served in the Revolution, as a member of the 33rd Battalion under a Col. Christian Stull, in charge of the 4th Co.

Fredrick Frush died Sept. 25, 1835 at the age of 86.

A son, Henry and his wife, "Polly" or Mary Frush, had lost an infant son at birth and a daughter, Elizabeth, who was two years old at her death in 1832.

The grandfather was laid to rest beside the children.

Mary Elizabeth, another child of Henry, was 7 years old when she died in 1848.

George, son of Henry and Polly Frush, owned the farm east of Deadfall Schoolhouse known as "The Old Frush Home," a century ago.

Cassandra Frush, born in 1762, was buried on the farm when she passed away Sept. 20, 1840.
