Charles was born in 1857. He was the son of Charles Gabriel. He passed away in 1927.
Charles Louis Gabriel was born on 25 June 1857 in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia to Charles Gabriel (1819-1902) and Rhoda Emma Rudder (1831-1891).
From 1878 he studied at the School of Medicine of the Royal Colleges, Edinburgh (L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S., 1885)
In 1888 he was appointed government medical officer to the Gundagai District Hospital and maintained a private practice.
Charles was an amateur photographer and his glass plate negatives are now in the National Library of Australia
He married Jessie Violette Young (c1855-1925) on 30 March 1891 in St. Patrick's, Church-hill, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

They did not have children and they separated sometime afterwards.
Charles Louis Gabriel died on 10 February 1927 at Tumut, New South Wales, Australia of complications of surgery for appendicitis.
